So Long Sydney

Our last day in Sydney was relaxing and exactly what we needed. We tried Vegemite for breakfast and definitely do not need to try that again. It was another beautiful day so we took the ferry to Manly Beach. The city views from the ferry were spectacular! We were able to view the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and city skyline all in one shot. The ferry ride was about 30 minutes long, but only cost $15 AUD per person. Before hitting the sand we munched on the most delicious fish and chips and lathered up with sunscreen. The 80 degree air and sunshine felt amazing and it was great to relax on beach and doze off a little. Kyle talked me into swimming, and despite the chilly water, it was a blast. The waves were huge and it was fun watching the dozens of surfers hang ten. There was also a beach volleyball world tour tournament taking place. We stopped and cheered on the USA women’s team for awhile before catching the return ferry. The sun set over the city while we ate dinner on the Circular Quay boardwalk. We tried some of the local specialties: Sydney Rock oysters, lamb, and barramundi fish – YUM! Following dinner, we strolled the botanical gardens to view the Opera House lit up at night. It was magical. At last we could say we’d seen the sights of Sydney, so we took a ferry back to our AirBnB and packed up for our early morning flight.
